Macon Water Authority – Lower Poplar Water Reclamation Facility (WRF)
Project Overview
ClearStream Environmental was selected to provide all new stainless steel internals and bridges for multiple clarifiers and thickeners at the Macon Water Authority’s Lower Poplar Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) in Macon, Georgia.
Sandy Creek Generating Station – Grey Water Lime Softening System
Project Overview
The Sandy Creek Generating Station is a 900-MW coal-fired power facility featuring a supercritical pulverized coal boiler, tandem compound reheat steam turbine, SCR system, dry scrubber, and baghouse. Designed to operate on Powder River Basin (PRB) coal, the plant incorporates an innovative grey water reuse system—treating reclaimed domestic wastewater for process and cooling tower use.
Owens Crossroads SBR Wastewater Treatment Facility – Alabama
Project Overview
The Town of Owens Crossroads, Alabama undertook a major upgrade to its municipal wastewater treatment facility to increase capacity, modernize aging infrastructure, and improve overall treatment performance. The project replaced the existing SBR system with a new 0.99 million gallon per day (MGD) Sequencing Batch Reactor, incorporating advanced jet aeration technology to enhance biological treatment efficiency.

BP Chemical – Custom Sludge Blanket Clarifier Improves Wastewater Treatment Efficiency
Project Overview
BP Chemical operates multiple facilities worldwide, producing a key precursor for food-grade plastics. During the production process, fine particles enter the wastewater stream. The company needed a reliable way to remove and recover these particles—not only to meet environmental standards but also to recycle valuable materials back into production.
Ambatovy – 250 ft Dia Tailings Thickener Retrofit
Project Overview
Ambatovy is one of the largest industrial undertakings in Madagascar, operating integrated mining and refining facilities for nickel and cobalt production. During processing, tailings ponds are used to store solids generated from refining. To maximize water reuse and minimize wastewater discharge, Ambatovy required a more efficient method to reduce water content in tailings.
Consol Energy — Knight AMD Treatment Facility
Project Overview
The Consol Energy Knight AMD Treatment Facility treats up to 1,700 gallons per minute of acid mine drainage using a proven High Density Sludge (HDS) treatment process. Acid mine drainage often exhibits very low pH values—sometimes near 2.0—and contains dissolved metals such as iron that must be oxidized and removed before discharge.
Fields Point Wastewater Treatment Plant – Rhode Island
Project Overview
As the plant aged, a major retrofit and upgrade of key treatment units became necessary. Following a competitive bidding process, ClearStream Engineering was awarded the project, which initially specified a suction header design for the secondary clarifiers.

Belews Creek Wastewater Treatment Station
Project Overview
The Belews Creek Steam Station is a two-unit coal and natural gas power plant with a combined generating capacity of 2,220 megawatts (MW). Located on Belews Lake in North Carolina, the facility is capable of co-firing up to 50% natural gas on both units, allowing flexible operation using coal, natural gas, or a combination of fuels.
Brandon Shores Generating Station – Maryland
Project Overview
FGD wastewater at Brandon Shores originates primarily from the overflow of secondary hydrocyclones in the gypsum dewatering process. This effluent contains elevated concentrations of dissolved and suspended solids, heavy metals, and reaction byproducts that must be removed to meet discharge requirements.
Cortez Mine Water Treatment System – Turnkey EPC Solution
Project Overview
Nevada Gold Mines, a joint venture between Barrick and Newmont, operates the Cortez Gold Mine in North Central Nevada. The facility utilizes evaporation ponds to achieve zero liquid discharge (ZLD) of mine contact water.
